The hermitage of San Juan was built at the time of the Christian conquest, between the 14th and 15th centuries, as was the hermitage of Santa Paula built around the year 1400. It has Gothic and Renaissance styles.
The hermitage of San Juan is a small building with a large main entrance. Inside there is an altar with its corresponding ecclesiastical pews where mass is celebrated only 3 days a year. In addition, at the back of this hermitage there is a small room used as a sacristy, this room was formerly the hermit’s house. For this reason, this hermitage is more suitable for the practice of the sacristy, unlike the hermitage of Santa Paula, which is smaller.
