The Jaime I square in Dénia is located in the southwest of the city. The square has a circular extension, which in turn acts as a roundabout through which all types of vehicles pass. Likewise, its location is close to the San Miguel Arcángel Parish Church and the Torrecremada Park.

In the square itself, we find a variety of green areas, separated by blocks that are easy to differentiate.

On one side there are 2 children’s play areas at each end of the square, where parents can enjoy time with their children without worrying about a vehicle passing by, as the areas are fenced off on both sides.

The square contains internal walkways with benches, where you can not only stroll, but also sit and enjoy the views of the sky between the palm trees that invade the entire square, because it has more than 40 palm trees and other trees.


The monument of Jaime I is located in one of the sectors of the garden in the Jaime I Park. Being surrounded by so many schools (Pou de la Muntanya, Montgó and Les Vessanes) the square is constantly full of children playing and enjoying their free time. Peak hours are usually from 17:30 h. until nightfall, around 20:00 h.

The square is surrounded by several important buildings, which can be of great help at any time. In the southern part of the square you will not only find the Parish Church of San Miguel Arcángel, but also an Integrated Health Centre, which is one of the best known integrated health centres in the region and can be attended by appointment.

To the east, we find the Casa de Cultura, which is used for many purposes, hosting a wide range of activities: UNED, art galleries, library, theatre, etc. Just in front of it, there is a large supermarket.

Parking for Jaime I Square in Dénia

The car park to get to the Plaza Jaime I in Dénia can be found to the north of the square, next to the Dénia Courthouse, Torrecremada parking.

It is totally free, except on Mondays, when it is occupied by the weekly ‘mercadillo’, this market is known by all the villages around the region, as people come from all over to sell not only clothes, but also their own harvested food. This means that every Monday the place is full of people and it is impossible to park not only in the car park, but also in the surrounding area.

At the end of the car park there is a building, which is a tax office, where you can do thousands of things, from filing your income tax return, paying taxes, but they also help you step by step to create your own digital signature which you can use to sign documents over the internet without having to go to the place where you need your signature.

Other parkings that can be found near the square are to the south, past the church. They are large enough to hold a large number of cars and are located between the Pou de la Muntanya and Montgó schools.
