The Toy Museum in Denia is located between Patricio Ferrándiz de Denia street and the street below Denia main street, Marqués de Campo Street.
The toy museum was established on the top floor of the building that was once the Denia-Carcaixent train station, the building is still distinguished by its beautiful facade, typical of a train station.
On the lower floor, which is where the building is accessed, we can find temporary art exhibitions.
The entrance to the Denia toy museum is free, it is open every day of the week and it is not allowed to take photographs (surely so that the toys do not deteriorate).
A wide variety of toys are displayed in showcases and represent the industry on which Denia depended exclusively since 1904. Since this year, toys were imported from Germany, until ten years later the first toy factory in Denia appeared.
Dolls of the time, toy kitchens, airplanes, cars … even the presence of Walt Disney characters that already appeared at the time and are still present among children today.
Some toys are restored, some somewhat degraded and others are surprisingly maintained over time.
The visit to this museum is something you should not miss, since when contemplating these wooden and metal toys they will bring you back memories that surely you had lost, in short, a trip to childhood for those of us who are older and a class Denia’s history for the youngest.
