In the center of Pare Pere Street, there is a square, Tenor Cortis Square of Denia, with the name of another illustrious Dianense, Antonio Montón Corts, known as Antonio Cortis (The Tenor Cortis). There we can see a plaque commemorating the 125th anniversary of his birth.
He was born on August 12, 1891. Famed lyrical singer nicknamed “The Little Caruso” and “The Spanish Caruso” for having received lessons from Enrico Caruso himself.
On April 2, 1952, he died in Valencia where he founded a singing school.
